The Human Rights Village will provide an opportunity to engage the French public in dynamic discussion and interactions around the meaning of the Universal Declaration of Human rights. It will encourage dialogue between the public and the NGOs and UN entities represented at the Village. It will allow participants to showcase their actions to advance human rights and to explore ways in which they can all contribute.
A Human Rights Wall will be a major part of the Human Rights Village. The Wall is based on the concept of freedom of expression and will offer the opportunity for individuals to express, through art, what human rights mean in their lives. The Wall will comprise several modules which will be mounted at the various conference sites throughout Paris. There will also be discussion groups Day at the Village between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00p.m. which will feature human rights experts.
Joan and Yee-Ching Lee will open the village with a 45 minute to one hour Yoga/Breathing/Meditation session. They will lead will lead the public in a short breathing and moments of silence of 5 minutes to honor the human rights..through out the day, and will lead the public of discussion groups on Human Rights to Heal at the Village.
